Bond Progress

2025-26 Bond and Facilities Planning Committee

As a future-focused district with a long history of success, Birdville ISD is always working to ensure we provide a high-quality education in environments where students are safe, inspired, and engaged in their learning.

Our District’s long-range facility planning process is vital to the sustainability of our facilities and the ability to support high-quality, dynamic instruction for students. The 2025-26 Bond and Facilities Planning Committee serves in an advisory role to our Birdville ISD Board of Trustees, with the goal of reviewing District facility needs and considering a possible bond package recommendation for next spring. Specifically, the charge of this committee is to:

  • Consider the educational needs of all students and align with the district’s mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
  • Represent the entire community, its values, and investment in their hometown schools.
  • Assess and prioritize the district’s current and long-term facility needs, including new construction, renovations, equipment/system life cycles, and capital improvements.
  • Bring forward recommendations to the Board of Trustees for addressing the district’s facility needs to support high-quality instruction and advancement of student programs.

2022 Bond Progress

On November 8, 2022, Birdville ISD voters approved a $300.8 million bond referendum to be used for safety and security, renovations, repairs, campus rebuilds, buses, and technology.

Propositions A and B were both approved and included:

  • Replacement Campus for Mullendore Elementary
  • Replacement Campus for Smith Elementary (now a partner school between Smith/Francisco)
  • Replacement Campus for Griggs High School
  • Renovations at Haltom High: cafeteria expansion, courtyard enclosure and additional classrooms for dance and cheer
  • Rebuilt courtyard at Birdville High
  • Repairs/Upgrades
  • Buses
  • Press boxes at all three high school football, baseball and softball fields
  • Artificial turf at all three high school baseball and softball fields
  • Technology updates and upgrades
  • Safety and security updates and upgrades at all campuses

With the passage of these propositions, the Board of Trustees put into place a citizen’s Bond Oversight Committee. This Committee has monitored the progress of the work to assure consistency with the propositions approved by voters. At least four times a year, the Committee reports on the progress to trustees. In addition to the report to trustees, quarterly reports will be available for review on the District’s website.

Projects in the 2022 bond referendum will be completed over the course of multiple years. Click on drop-down menus below each video to read more information about each project.
