Trustees Call May 2 Bond Election addressing Safety and Security, Aging Facilities, Operational Efficiencies and Maintenance Priorities
The Birdville ISD Board of Trustees has approved an order calling a bond election on May 2, 2026. The bond proposal, which will not require a tax rate increase, will address safety and security updates and additions, renovations and replacements of aging schools and facilities, and priority capital facility projects across the district. Voters will have the opportunity to vote on two propositions, for a combined bond package of $475.5 million.
The community-driven plan was developed by a Bond and Facilities Planning Committee, which was made up of more than 50 community representatives – parents, business and city leaders, and campus and district employees – who met regularly this past fall to study BISD’s long-term facility plan. This committee carefully reviewed Birdville ISD’s facility conditions, instructional spaces, safety and security systems, and future workforce demands, and ultimately designed a bond recommendation based on months of discussion, data, and shared priorities. The proposed bond projects will impact every campus across the district and focus on three key priorities — student safety, learning environments & technology, and operational efficiencies.
Bond 2026 is a thoughtful facility plan with a focus on the future. The proposal impacts every student and every campus, and can be completed without increasing the tax rate.
